About this fungus

Handsome Club is a fungus in the Clavariaceae family. Its habitat and field characteristics are summarised below.

What to check

Fruit bodies are usually simple, slender and blunt-tipped, sometimes slightly flattened or sparingly divided, with a paler base. Spores form over the outer surface, so there are no gills, pores, ring or volva. Microscopy is often needed among similar small clubs.
