About this fungus

Split Fibrecap is listed in the Shroomify field guide as a gills fungus in the Inocybaceae family. Mycorrhizal with broadleaf and conifer trees in woodland, parks, cemeteries and beside paths, usually on humus-rich soil.

Of the tree types tested, Split Fibrecap was most often recorded where birch was present.

Elevation

Records tended to come from higher ground, about 162 metres above the average elevation of fungal records in the study.
